World Challenge at Miller Motorsports Park

Our 2008 debut in SPEED World Challenge may not have given us a win, or even a top-ten finish, but it gave us a lot of information for the season ahead. We still have lots of work to do (or should I say Vesko and Boli do), but we're headed in the right direction. It was so amazing to have two cars on grid, and looking so great. Both cars showed that they have excellent potential to be very competitive. Since neither car had a chance to test it was just a hope they would even make it to the race.

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped us this week. I'm not sure how we'll survive when we're on the road without hometown support.

The BMW has Started!!

After days of frustration, checking wiring, computers, everything imaginable, the problems have been fixed and the engine started at 2:00 pm! We've had some huge set-backs due to defective parts, but we might just make it. I think we'll set a record for the least testing time before a race — ever!

Speed World Challenge

Anyone remember this car? I purchased it 2 years ago, the fully loaded MR edition. After one track session at Cal Speedway, parts started getting yanked off. Now the whole car has been ingeniously engineered by Vesko and other than a few body panels, I'm not sure what's left of the old car. It truly is a beautiful work of art.

Looks like after many long hours and late nights we will make our first World Challenge Race at Miller Motorsports Park next Sunday. Check the blog for updates during the week of testing.

Here's that first track day

Looking a little racier in 2006

Racing: The Agony . . .

For the 2nd MPRA (Miller Motorsports Race Association) race of 2008, I decided to give the car a look that was more "me". I knew I should have taken photos before the race. After an incident in turn one where I tried to sneak inside of Aaron Morgan, and another lap 1 adventure where Seth tried to do the same to me—let's just say the car is looking a little less than perfect.

BTW this is the same car that we raced in the 2006 25 Hours of Thunderhill, pictured on the top right. The same drive train is still powering us around.
